ELI works with a wide variety of organizations based in cosmopolitan Buenos Aires to create internships designed to give valuable international work experience, improve Spanish proficiency, and firsthand experience with the complexities of doing business in Argentina. All interns must have at least an intermediate level of Spanish proficiency and feel comfortable working in an all-Spanish speaking environment.
Legal Internships
ELI works with several law firms in Buenos Aires to create internships for law students to gain experience working in Buenos Aires and gain insight into the Argentine legal system. The firms we work with specialize in litigation, business consulting, environmental law, corporate law, intellectual property, international tax, commercial law, and dispute resolution. Interns conduct research, assist in the communication with other law firms abroad, translation projects, and document preparation.
Requirements:
· Cover Letter and Resume / CV in Spanish
· High Intermediate to Advanced Spanish Proficiency
· Demonstrated Interest in Law, such as past internships, coursework or enrollment in law school

"On a daily basis I am responsible for translation work. I like this type of work because I learn a lot about the background of certain types of cases and how the attorneys negotiate. My long-term projects consist of translating lengthy and in-depth legal documents. Right now I am working on a summary in Spanish of an article from the United States. The environment couldn't be better. All my coworkers are welcoming and make an effort to help me learn. My supervisor goes over my written work with me to show me my mistakes. It was clear from day one that everyone was glad to have me there."
