Program Description:
Madrid
Enroll in EF’s Spanish courses in Madrid and experience modern Spain in a capital city with a rich culture and heritage dating back centuries.

Immerse yourself in sophisticated Spanish culture when you study the language in the capital of Madrid. EF’s school is located in the elegant neighborhood of Salamanca, home to some of the city’s best covered markets and boutique shopping. It is a short metro ride from the Plaza Mayor, which has long been the hub of activity for Madrid residents.
The Spanish courses here focus on conversational fluency, and prepare students for interactions extending beyond the classroom walls. You’ll learn to be at ease ordering a plate of tapas in a neighborhood café or when asking a local to take your photo in front of the Royal Palace of Madrid. Preparation courses for the DELE exam are designed to help those students who are planning on pursuing higher education in Spain.

Spain’s Cultural Capital
Madrid is affectionately called Spain’s most ‘Spanish’ city. It is the country’s political capital, in addition to being the epicenter of Spanish culture.  Traditions live on in Madrid, as evidenced by the long-lines outside of the city’s bullfighting rings and the undying popularity of flamenco dancing.
At the same time as it preserves Spanish traditions, Madrid embraces the latest trends in fashion, art and design as enthusiastically as any other city in Europe. When your courses finish for the day, you may want to browse the boutiques along Calle de Serrano, the most exclusive shopping street in the city. Make time to spend an entire day soaking up the masterpieces in Madrid’s heralded museum, the Museo del Prado. Join locals at the hallowed Bernabéu Stadium as they cheer on their beloved Real Madrid soccer team.  Sample Paella at Sobrino de Botín on Plaza Mayor – believed to be the oldest restaurant in the world.
