Housing Type: Private apartment, Shared apartment
Housing Information:

  • Convenience and Safety: Your well-being is prioritized by placing you in safe and commuter-friendly areas like Nerima-ku, Itabashi-ku, Suginami-ku, and Kawasaki. Specific locations will be confirmed closer to your arrival date.
  • Shared Apartments: You'll have a private bedroom in a professionally cleaned apartment with WiFi and essential furnishings. The surrounding area offers convenient access to shops and restaurants.
  • Private Studios (Optional): Limited availability for private studios exists for an additional cost. If interested, please inquire with The Intern Group.
  • Commute Time: Commuting distances to your internship will be reasonable (typically 30-90 minutes) via metro or walking.

Program Dates and Length

Start Dates

You can start your internship at the time that suits you – there are internship start dates every month, all-year-round. We recommend applying at least three months in advance to ensure sufficient time for internship placement and visa processing.

Time Commitment 

In-person programs usually demand a full-time commitment for your internship (40 hours a week). 
Remote and Digital Nomad programs can be full-time (40 hours a week) or part-time (10, 20 or 30 hours a week). 
 

Application and Internship Placement Process

 

  1. Apply & Interview: Apply online through this application form and schedule a quick call with our Admissions team.
  2. Secure Your Spot: If accepted, pay a deposit and your first program fee installment.
  3. Professional Profile: Our team creates a profile highlighting your skills and connects you with potential internship locations.
  4. Successful Interviews: Get interview prep and support, maximizing your chances of landing the right fit.
  5. Accept the Offer: Review and accept the internship offer from the company.
  6. Finalize Payment: Pay the second and final program fee installment.    
 

 

Academic Credit

Our School of Record, Florida A&M University, can issue a transcript for participation in The Intern Group’s internship programs. Each 40 hours of your internship program equates to 1 credit, subject to a minimum of 3 credits and a maximum of 9. 

Whether you can receive academic credit for an internship depends on your university’s policies and your individual academic situation. Please carefully read our page on academic credit on our website. 
 

Program Cost

Our programs have a fee, which covers all of the features described above. Because the programs include housing accommodation, the fee amount depends on the dates/length of your internship. You can look up the exact amounts and full details of the program fees on our website. Also note that the internships may be either paid or unpaid, subject to the decision of the host company and the rules of your visa. 

All students and alumni are welcome to apply to The Intern Group. Please check in with your study abroad office and/or academic advisor to ensure that you meet your home institution's academic requirements. 
 

Financial Aid and Discounts

Many of our participants have received a scholarship or grant which covered all or part of their program cost. Here is a list of resources which may help you find a grant of your own:

  • If you are a college student in the USA receiving a Pell Grant, you are eligible for a 500 USD discount off any of our programs.
  • If you are a college or university student in the UK receiving a Maintenance Loan of over £8200 or a Maintenance Grant, you are eligible for a 500 USD discount off any of our programs.
  • If you are a college or university student in Australia receiving Youth Allowance, you are eligible for a 500 USD discount off any of our programs.
  • If you are a college or university student in Canada receiving the Canada Student Grant (CSG), you are eligible for a 500 USD discount off any of our programs
  • If you are a college or university student in Hong Kong receiving the Tertiary Student Finance Scheme (TSFS) or Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP), you are eligible for a 500 USD discount off any of our programs.
