Explore the coastal town of Quepos in your free time, spotting unique species in the nearby tropical rainforest or relaxing on the many picturesque beaches.

Program Focus
Kickstart your career teaching English in Costa Rica on this teaching internship, where you will gain real life experience in the classroom. You will have the opportunity to master not only technical teaching skills but also transferable skills like teamwork, organisation and leadership, as well as cross cultural communication.

There are often requests from the local communities we work with for more English and other educational support such as life skills, environmental education, universal school topics for children and adults. The reason for this is that the area is a popular destination for English-speaking tourists, it is also an area with a lot of wildlife diversity where environmental and empowerment activities are key to the sustainability of the area. Local employers are often looking for English-speaking locals to assist these international visitors. So in supporting English education, interns will not only be contributing to UN SDG #4, Quality Education, but also UN SDG #8, Decent Work and Economic Growth. Depending on project needs you could be asked to help with other programs by teaching English to young people and adults, or working in the early childhood development program with local children, or on community development and empowerment activities.

CR quepos cover
Location
Quepos, located three hours from the Costa Rican capital of San Jose, is a traditional laid-back Costa Rican town. Known as the entrance to world famous Manuel Antonio National Park, the town has maintained its traditional Costa Rican heritage. The town is an attractive location for international tourists and many locals are employed in the tourism industry. However, they need to be able to fulfill the English language skills required by local employers. These employment opportunities also attract immigrants from other Latin America countries who have settled in informal areas around Quepos. In your free time, take advantage of the myriad of adventure activities that this diverse coastal region has to offer. So why not take the short bus ride to visit the famous Manuel Antonio National Park or the local palm fringed beaches.
