Program Description:

Fiji Teaching Internship (short-term)

During this internship, participants gain practical teaching experience while coordinating educational activities in Fiji by delivering Learning Through Play sessions with local children in rural communities, and contributing to the growth of knowledge about the benefits of early childhood development. Interns will gain relevant practical experience, ultimately providing a platform to kickstart their career.

Program Focuses:
Participants develop and deliver sessions for children under 5 years of age that support the development of skills in key developmental areas - cognitive, emotional, social and physical. Participants also deliver short courses to caregivers communicating the importance of Early Childhood Development and how children can be supported in their development at home. The short term internship also includes leadership training and one-on-one mentor sessions.

Program Highlights:
  1. Personal growth and development.
  2. Developing and delivering structures Learning Through Play sessions in rural communities.
  3. Delivering and further developing Early childhood Development training modules to caregivers and Community Health Workers.
  4. Immersing yourself in communal living.
  5. Contributing to the overall goals and objectives of the Dawasamu projects, in conjunction with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  6. Learning to work with others and witnessing the accomplishments made when working in a team.

Location:
Interns will be based in the Dawasamu District, whose traditional villages, dense jungle, mountains, and beautiful coastline of the area make for a truly amazing environment in which to live and work.
