Program Description:

GVI India Women's Empowerment Internship (short-term)

Cover

Travel to Kerala, India, and help contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goal #5, Gender Equity. Our sustainable, long-term women’s empowerment program helps increase the quality of women and young girls’ education.

You can look forward to receiving skill-based training and mentorship, which in turn can help improve your career skills. India also offers you fascinating cultures, stunning scenery, wildlife in national parks and trademark tea and spice plantations.

PROGRAM FOCUS

Through the women’s empowerment internship you will learn about and support ongoing gender equality programs in India by working with a range of organisations including schools, women’s groups, and other community-based organisations.

Our goal is to assist women and girls with developing and achieving their own goals. We also support the promotion of gender equality among community members, including men and boys, in the communities in which we work. As an Intern, you will contribute to our gender equality programs in India by helping us to run a range of workshops with local women whilst assisting with women’s economic development in India. Interns might also facilitate discussions with girls, boys, and men concerning gender equality in India.

You will spend your days working alongside project partners in the local community whilst also getting the chance to get a deeper insight into Indian culture, living and working in a culturally rich environment.

Through your internship, you will also earn your GVI ILM Leadership Development certificate, a qualification recognised by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM). All internships are geared at developing your leadership and role model skills, allowing you to develop a variety of key soft and hard skills that will put you a step ahead the rest of the pack.
