Program Description:
Overview
Prepare for your future through with this transformative education experience that integrates interdisciplinary urban internships with a faith-based Christian learning framework. You’ll be immersed in a hands-on internships related to your major. You’ll gain practical skills, cross-disciplinary insights, and cultural competencies essential for navigating the complexities of your vocation after graduation.

This program fosters spiritual growth, reflection, and a Christ-centered approach to social justice, enabling you to align your career aspirations with your Christian values. This blend of experiential learning and faith-based education equips you for meaningful career discernment, competitive job acquisition, and a lifelong commitment to servant leadership.

Academics
You can choose from 1 of 4 tracks:
  • Interdisciplinary track - for all majors. Choose from a variety of courses and inernship opportunities
  • Social Work track - for junior or senior social work majors to complete their field placement hours
  • Public Policy track - for students seeking to pair their academics with a political internship on the East Coast
  • Health Science track - for those preparing to be in the medical field after graduation. Choose from a variety of healthcare related internships

Core Elements
  • Courses: In and outside of the classroom, learn about the complex realities of public health, the intersection of ministry and social work, politics, and everything in between. You will gain a new perspective on the joyful work that God is completing in your community.
  • Internships: Learn from experts in your future profession. Whatever your major–we place you at an organization related to your interests. Develop skillsets that prepare you for life after college.
  • Community: Our staff and faculty disciple and mentor you throughout the program. Community comes to life through shared meals, processing your internship, and navigating the city together.

Internships
Our semester program includes a built-in internship opportunity where you will participate in 120-480 hours of internship work in community health clinics and agencies in Baltimore or Washington D.C.
