Program Overview

Your CIEE Semester Intern and Study Abroad program in Sydney lasts 12 weeks and features three key components: a part-time internship with an international organization (approximately 20 hours per week), an internship seminar, and two elective courses taught by CIEE faculty or online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with cultural and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Australian culture. Live, learn, and work in Sydney!

Program Highlights

Internship Placements: CIEE offers the largest inventory of internship placements that align with your career aspirations.

Elective Courses: Choose from in-person courses at CIEE Sydney or online courses delivered by CIEE’s global partner, ASU, that align with your academic major.

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Sydney will open doors for you to explore Australia’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, contemporary trends, vibrant art, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.    

Samples of past excursions and activities:

  • Embark on a journey to Blue Mountains National Park, hike through rainforests, marvel at the Three Sisters rock formation, and explore the area’s Aboriginal history with expert local guides
  • Experience the thrill of live Australian sports, from rugby to Aussie rules football, surrounded by passionate fans in iconic stadiums like the SCG and Accor Stadium
  • Enjoy Australia’s coastal lifestyle at Sydney’s iconic beaches, such as Manly and Bondi
