Program Type: Internship Abroad
Program Description:
Come do an internship in Thailand! ISDSI has over 25 years of experience placing students with local organizations, making sure your experience is authentic and collaborative.

ISDSI offers independent 8 week internships in the summer (June through July).

Making fire breaks in Maetha
Internships are a unique opportunity to explore a field or topic you are interested in, help you prepare for graduate school, explore an area you are curious about, or see if this might be something you’d like to do more of in the future.

Each internship placement is developed in collaboration with the student as well as the host organization.  In Thailand most organizations do not have a “list” of available internships, but instead are willing to work with ISDSI and the student to create unique learning opportunities for students. We work with a wide variety of NGOs (non-government organizations), government clinics and offices, small businesses, community enterprises, and others. Strong partnerships with local organizations and communities are a key part of what makes ISDSI courses successful. We work together with local organizations and communities to help them tell their own stories and learn about their issues. As a result our partners are passionate about connecting with and teaching our students, sharing their lives, knowledge, and struggles.

Some of the areas where we have placed students include (but are not limited to!) the following:
  • Sustainable agriculture
  • Public health
  • Veterinary and pre-vet animal care
  • Child development
  • Education
  • Environmental science
  • Community development
  • Human rights
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Tourism and Hospitality . . . . . . . . .and more!
